about

Voyager is the third album from Galactic Tyrannosaur and will be available in full on February 29, 2020. This album is an 8 track instrumental concept album that follows the journey of a cosmonaut who warps through time and space and crashes onto a mysterious earth like planet. Each piece of music is composed to provide specific feelings and visualizations of the story that is unfolding. This album is overflowing with ambient tones, ripping riffs and pounding drums. Along with the music Evans has also written short descriptive stories for each track to aid the listener in visualizing the story as he imagined it. Alternatively, the listener can disregard the story fully and imagine their own story if they wish to do so.

VOYAGER: THE STORY

Track 1 (Through the Atlas)
The journey begins calmly and quietly. Gearing up for the adventure that awaits, you embark the ship to prepare for launch. As you are checking all gauges, switches and screens, the radio begins to broadcast your instructions. In your mind all you can hear is noise. A melody plays in your head but its fuzzy and distant. As the countdown begins the music becomes clear and as the song reaches its peak you begin to feel the nervousness set in. It is time for lift off.

Track 2 (Voyager)
The count down reaches the final seconds and soon you are thrust back into your seat. Blasting off to the great beyond your heart is racing. The music in your ear somehow aligns itself with your feelings of disbelief, but overall content that you may never return from this voyage. Then, you hit warp speed and there is no turning back.

Track 3 (The Fabric Of Space And Time)
Soon you are floating freely among the stars and nebula. A vessel of infinite atoms among the vast horizons that you cannot comprehend fully. The sounds are ambient and comforting to an extent. You can hear a distant sound like whales singing songs but its all in your mind. You truly hear nothing but illusions and isolation playing music in your head to fight the paranoia. You have unknowingly torn through the fabric of space and time. You are headed to a place you never fathomed.

Track 4 (Land Of The Lost)
Violently shaking you are suddenly breaking through an atmosphere that you could not see initially. As the clouds and thick fog separate your eyes take in the vast green jungles. Is this earth? Have you somehow managed to slip back into the very place you left with no real adventure to be had? A crash landing jars you, but you emerge from the ship ready to face what lies ahead.

Track 5 (Carnotaurus)
Just then you gaze upon the horned carnivore. Your expedition dream has suddenly become a nightmare. Running through the trees and foliage you are desperately trying to escape. The ear piercing roar of the dinosaur grows steadily and you start to loose all hope. Coming up to a cliffs edge you can either jump or face being eaten alive. You take the chance and jump.

Track 6 (Emerald River)
Splashing into the cool waters a sudden sense of calm flows over your body. You’ve escape death and are now floating down a steady stream of sparkling water. The initial chill is gone and you can finally relax and take in the beautiful jungle scenery. But the peacefulness does not last long and you are tumbled into a waterfall with no idea what lies below.

Track 7 (Apollo’s Curse)
A temple greets you just off the shores of the Emerald River. Ancient carvings surround the stone structure. Against your better judgement you enter the hollow ruins. You suddenly feel a burning sensation flowing through your veins and visions of beings flash through your mind. A long lost civilization creating all that we have come to know today. Along with the blessing of life, a curse was placed upon the universe. Death, destruction, famine, war, corruption, greed...all bestowed upon everyone who dares to be born within this ever expanding space.

Track 8 (Ascending)
As the vision subsides you are throw backwards by a mysterious force. Hands not like your own grab for you as your eyes slowly close and your breath fogs the visor. When you awake your body is numb. Your eyes unable to blink and your breath drawing in and out seemingly without effort. Your visor is shattered and the fragments are moving around you. As far as your eyes can see there is nothing. Pure darkness engulfs you except for the few blinking lights of your suit. As you move motionless through the void you start to feel the transformation of space. Soon stars and planets become visible. Your eyes are relaxed and they start to closer slower than time can comprehend. As you begin to reach the end of your journey and your sight is obstructed by the lashes, the last thing you see is a pteranodon carrying a galaxy through space on its back. A peaceful sight as you slip out of existence.
